Home Bakery | Dubai
One of the many perks of having a food blog is the constant requirement to be eating. Whether that’s our own recipes for testing purposes or other people’s tasty treats for inspiration.
I was spoilt rotten by Flo this week when she returned from a weekend at Dubai Design Week (keep an eye on the blog for more on that) laden with treats for me to try from Home Bakery. She knows my absolute weakness for cookies (check out our recipe) and she said I needed to try their versions - she was right.
To try I had Nutella stuffed cookies, pistachio filled cookies, raspberry and white chocolate cookies and a slice of lemon and thyme loaf. The cookies were just how I like them - soft and squidgy with a generous portion of whichever filling they were festooned with. For me, the raspberry version were a little on the sweet side, and my preference was for the filled versions - particularly the pistachio.
The standout was the lemon and thyme loaf, that managed a delicate balance between the sharp lemon tang and the floral, slightly savoury note of the thyme. That’s one I am definitely going to try and recreate.
With locations in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi they come recommended when the need arises for a decadent treat.
